The turkey is moist, the mashed potatoes are fresh, the corn bread stuffing is tasty and the gravy is creamy. It's a great combination. Oh, and the cranberry relish is good too.
As a restaurant known for their pies, I expected more from Marie Callender's quiche. Theirs is a bit bland. I guess just because there's a pie crust doesn't mean that MC does it well...
This is my favorite fast food chicken sandwich. I'm not sure what it is about this sandwich; maybe the breading/seasoning or the pickle chips. It's sad that I can't find a Chick-Fil-A in northern California, but I get them at the airport when I pass through Atlanta!
I love key lime pie. I'll have to check it out. At least there's a Hooter's within 45 minutes of my home now. The closest used to be some 400 miles away!
I like gyros, and the Athena Grill has a pretty good one. The beef is goo dand I really like their pita. The tzatziki is also good. And once again, I love the Greek fries.
I had the daily special, which included mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions and bell pepper. The omelette was fluffy and has plenty of filling. The potatoes are pretty good too, though not as good as the sweet potato fries.
Hot, foamy latte in a pint glass. Tasty too. What more could you ask for? As long as you order in, you get the pint glass even if you order a small. I get mine with non-fat milk and it's still pretty darn good.
I'm a sucker for a warm, chocolate chip cookie covered in ice cream. This one comes in a small, pizza style pan and the cookie is baked right in. My only real complaint is that I would prefer hot fudge to caramel for this concoction.
I like Chicago style pizza. This may not have been the best I've ever had, but it was pretty good. I added chicken to it rather than stick with veggie. This one didn't really have any sauce, so I found it to be a bit dry. It still had a good flavor, mostly due to the feta cheese and garlic. The crust is pretty good too.
I guess this is like a Greek lasagna. Similar to the mousaka except with noodles instead of eggplant and potato. There's a lot more meat in the pastitsio as well. I really like the seasoning on this one.
The mu shu is pretty good, but what I remember the most is my niece trying mu shu here for the first time. She gagged and nearly threw up. But don't let that stop you from trying it. If you like mu shu, this is pretty typical.
This is becoming one of my favorites. It's a little more interesting than the straight chocolate milk tea. It reminds me a bit of the old Borders chocolate chai, but with pearls!
First of all, bacon is a welcome addition to any sandwich. Second, the ancho-chipotle spread is really tasty with just a hint of heat. The chicken and smoked cheddar round it off perfectly. This is a worthy competitor against the Frontega Chicken Panini for my favorite Panera sandwich.
They really do have an excellent dressing, although I think there was a little too much on my salad. I could have done without so many fried won ton strips too. Other then that, it was a really good salad.
I haven't found hush puppies at too many places in the Bay Area, so just having them is a good start. These are pretty good, but a bit different then I'm used to. Though with deep fried corn bread, how can you go wrong? They've added some jalapeño to spice things up a bit. The Bad Attitude sauce is ok, but nothing special.
The meat is so-so, but there's a ton of it. There are 4 different sauces at the table you can try. There are Texas and Kansas City style sauces in spicy and mild. With chips, slaw and a pickle, it's a pretty good deal, especially on Monday when it's the lunch special for $6.
This is a great dish to sample some different styles of beef. The steak tartare is very tender and nicely seasoned. The NY steak and prime rib are both tasty. And the braised beef with cambozola (sort of a mix of Camembert and Gorgonzola) is like a high-end pot roast. Don't be fooled though, it's still a ton of beef!
This is a large piece of meat, but then again, they all are at Alexander's. I had mine with a red peppercorn butter sauce. It was cooked just right, but I still think I like a NY cut better, although I haven't tried it at Alexander's.
This is one of the best tasting dishes at Chili's, and totally filling. Unfortunately, it must be one of the most unhealthy dishes as well. The batter they use is great, and I really love their black pepper gravy (even if it doesn't have sausage in it like real Southern gravy). Chili's mashed potatoes are quite good, a little chunky with the skin still in there.
This is a great sandwich. The grilled chicken is good, and the jalapeño Jack cheese and chipotle ranch dressing kick it up a notch. The Awesome Blossom strings are a tasty addition.
This is the best falafel I've had in the Bay Area. The falafel balls a a bit smaller and more moist than most places. They are also very tasty. Add some tahini and hot sauce and you have a great sandwich. Try the falafel and banana shake special, what a treat!
The format is a little different than I'm used to: big chunks of meat instead of strips, but it's still really good. You get a ton of meat and tahini with some lettuce and tomato.
It seems like they use the caramel flavoring from a bottle, like they use for other coffee drinks. The flavor is not as good as the real thing. They put a drizzle of caramel on the top so I'm not sure why they can't use that for the blended drink as well. I'll stick with one of the othe blended drinks in the future.
White chocolate chunks in a chocolate brownie. I assume there are two different types of chocolate beside the white, but I'm not sure what they are. If you get it heated it has an almost fudgy texture.
This is the best Kalua Pork I've had on the mainland. It's very moist with a wonderful smoky flavor. You can get it with or without the cabbage. I usually get it with the cabbage just for some texture (and to make me feel like there's some nutritional value to the meal). The plate comes with rice and mac salad and a ton of pork!
Frozen, blended, chocolaty goodness. This one is almost as good as my all time favorite (though sadly discontinued) Panera Bread I. C. Cappuccino Chip. Yum.
This moist brownie is very nearly fudge. It's so chocolaty good. Make sure you have them warm it up first. Then it's warm and melty too! I don't notice the espresso, but I don't mind since it's so good anyway.
I don't like cilantro, but you can get it without. Otherwise, this is a pretty tasty, healthy salad. The reduced-sugar keeps the calories down a bit, although you should probably skip the wonton strips.
I ordered the chocolate souffle. The waiter divided it in two at the table, and added a huge dollop of creme anglaise. It was smooth and creamy. Tasty too.
This is a huge cut of New York Strip. The NY Strip is one of my favorite cuts. It has so much flavor and it's tender without being mushy like filet mignon. Morton's cooks the steak just right. I ordered mine medium, and it had a perfect, warm, pink center and it was so thick and juicy. You can get a side of sauce for a little extra, but you really don't need it.
This was the best dish I tried here so far. The chicken is pretty tender and flavorful. It reminds me a little bit of jambalaya. Maybe it's the poblano chile. What ever it is, I'll be sure to try it again.
The fries are seasoned with a tasty spice which seems to be mostly chili powder. The aioli is not as tasty as other places, but it is a great compliment to the spiced fries.
This is a really nice salad with sweet beets and pears. There wasn't much lettuce but there were plenty of beets. At most places it's the other way around. I really liked the spice-toasted pumpkin seeds.
It's sort of like eggplant Parmesan without the tomato sauce. It's a bit smoky. There's not a lot of food, but what do you expect when you order tapas!
The amount of food was amazing. Even the salad was huge. You definitely won't go away hungry. The pot roast is really tender. It practically melts in your mouth. I would ave liked a few more veggies with it though.
Reminds me of a CheeseIt with roast beef. The Asiago bread is really good, but other than that, this is a pretty typical roast beef sandwich. The creamy horseradish sauce has potential, but it was applied sparingly. If you want a really good roast beef sandwich with horseradish, try the Chicago South Sider at Safeway (http://www.dishadish.com/dish/668340+-+Safeway+-+Chicago+South+Sider).
A ton of good food for a reasonable price. This is serious comfort food, just like mom used to make. Practically a Thanksgiving dinner if only there was pumpkin pie.
Get ready for a heaping helping of Israeli hospitality. This is a big platter full of goodness. The chicken shawarma is pretty good, doused with a bit of tahini. The falafel is a little on the dry side, but there's plenty of hummus to wash it down. There's also a little salad included and a hot, fluffy pita. If you want to sample a few middle eastern dishes and have a good appetite, this is the dish for you.
I got this as a free sample, so I can't complain about the price. It's a white style pizza, no tomato sauce. It's very cheesy and plenty of garlic. I like it!
The marscarpone is not very noticeable, but I do like polenta. It is served on a bed of some sort of tomato sauce which is ok, but the polenta itself is quite good.
The chicken is decent, moist and tender. The Cajun spices were pretty mild. I'm not sure what to make of the dipping sauce, it was something white and creamy.
The chicken was cooked pretty well, not dry at all, but the flavor was a bit bland. The dipping sauce provided was pretty good but it seemed closer to teriyaki than anything Thai.
It's really sad that they don't sell the Boston Cream Pie any more. That was my favorite by far. Maybe it was too expensive and no one was buying it. I usually on;y got it when they had the $5.99 for any pie sales.
Mmmmm. So good. I don't think I've ever had poppy seeds in a pineapple upside-down cake before, but it's all good. It's so moist and a bit sticky. It could use a bit more pineapple inside.
Lots of sliced turkey on this one, and bacon is always a welcome addition in my book. The sun-dried tomato ale mustard is pretty interesting. I know the three cheese bread is pretty good, but it's not so noticeable with all the other flavors.
This is a pretty average burrito at best. There were too many beans and not enough of the good stuff. Some people rave about their orange sauce. It's interesting stuff, sort of like garlic aioli with chili added, but it doesn't quite save an otherwise average burrito.
This is a good, low fat alternative to the other I. C. drinks. It's pretty tasty, but nothing special compared to Jamba Juice and other smoothie places.
I love all these flavors, but some how the whole was not greater than the sum of the parts. I think I would stick with the regular chocolate frosted brownie.
Neither the lasagna or the chicken Marsala are very interesting and the combination fares no better. For more details, see the reviews of those individual dishes.
It's basically a Caprese salad. Unfortunately the tomatoes aren't so great. The mozzarella is pretty good and as are the vinaigrette and basil. The focaccia is good as expected of Panera baked goods. It's a decent light meal, but could be a lot better with some fresher ingredients.
I think this is one of the best deals on the menu. Three tasty tacos, a heap of rice and some black beans. Sometimes I substitute mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies instead of the rice and beans.
I love this dish, but I rarely ever get it cause it's like a heart attack on a platter. The hand battered steak is awesome, and their souther gravy is one of the best I've had. The mashed potatoes are really good as well. The weak link is the corn. It's often soggy and mushy.
The turkey is ok, but not great. I like the stuffing, which is rare for me since I'm very particular about stuffing. The mashed potatoes are not very mashed. They are definitely chunky. The cranberry-orange relish is pretty good.
I love biscuits and gravy and I like southern fried chicken (especially boneless), so what's not to like here. The batter on the chicken is tasty and the biscuits are fluffy. The gravy is not the best I've ever had, but it's quite good. The mashed potatoes aren't very mashed. They serve them really chunky. The dish could include some veggies to make me feel less guilty. I only got the half order (1 chicken breast instead of 2), but it was still a ton of food.
Pretty good for a light, healthy meal. Not counting the chicken, it only has 100 calories, 10 from fat. The strawberries and blueberries are fresh and tasty. The Mandarin oranges and pineapple are canned. The sugar-free dressing works pretty well. It contains sucralose (Splenda).
The focaccia based sandwiches are usually quite good, and this is no exception. The Asiago Cheese Focaccia brings plenty of cheesy flavor to this turkey sandwich. The chipotle mayo makes everything a little more interesting.
Not my favorite sandwich at Panera, but a good one. It had a ton of meat on it and the Ciabatta bread is decent. The salami they use is not as strong as some other places, which could be good or bad depending on how much you like salami versus the rest of the meats. My only real complaint is the Swiss cheese. I mean come on, it's an Italian combo. Where's the provolone?
The chicken in a bit bland. You really need to add some sauce to liven it up. Their green sauce is pretty good. I prefer rice and sour cream in a super burrito. While I think the avocado slices are an interesting change of pace, I prefer guacamole.
This is a pretty average burrito in my book. It's one of the few I've had without rice inside and the only one I had that uses slices of avocado instead of guacamole. I'm also used to super burritos containing sour cream, which this one does not (though you can add it). without the rice it's not as filling as the typical super burrito, but it is cheaper than most. The beef is ok, but nothing special.
A very good burrito, but still not my favorite. The tortilla was not as soft and chewy as I like, and the overall burrito was a bit salty. You do have a choice of beans. I opted for the whole pinto beans.
I'm generally a fan of Greek salads. This one is average. The main problem was they didn't include the olives. That's a pretty key ingredient for me. The dressing is pretty good, though a little more lemon wouldn't hurt. I added chicken to mine, which is pretty good. I also chose the whole wheat baguette, which is quite good, but I've come to expect quality baked goods from Panera.
This dish was pretty good, though I prefer it with a bit of pork in the mix. The eggplant pieces were pretty big, but at least they were cooked through.
This is my favorite Thai dish, but I was a bit disappointed with this version. For starters, there were no peanuts in my order, and hardly any onion. The sauce was a bit thin and quite sweet. The beef was ok, at least it was the stewed kind, not just some slices added at the last minute.
